history

The remains of the Slavic castle ramparts Quadenschönfeld from the 8th to 9th centuries are located near Quadenschönfeld .

The Quadenschönfeld estate was owned by the von Warburg family from 1389 onwards . The manor house was built around 1800 by order of Friedrich von Warburg, who had owned Quadenschönfeld since 1774. The von Warburg family held the estate until 1877 and died out in Mecklenburg at the end of the 19th century. In 1883, District Administrator Count Arthur von Bernstorff came into possession of the property, which remained in the possession of Count Bernstorff until it was expropriated in 1945 . Around 1890 extensive renovation work took place on the manor house, during which the formerly single-storey building was, among other things, increased and given its classicist character.
