Cammin is a district of the town of Burg Stargard in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

geography

The place is on the Camminer See , 6 kilometers south of Stargard Castle and 13 kilometers south-southeast of Neubrandenburg . The neighboring towns are Riepke in the northeast, Gramelow in the east, Quadenschönfeld in the southeast, Warbende in the south, Blankensee in the southwest and Zachow , Ballwitz and Godenswege in the northwest.

history

Cammin was first mentioned in 1170 as "Kamino". The place name Cammin is of Slavic origin.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Riepke was incorporated. Godenswege was reclassified from Holldorf to Cammin on October 1, 1961 .

On May 25, 2014, Cammin was incorporated into Stargard Castle.

The place is only connected to the other road network in neighboring Godenswege via the MSE 84 district road. There is also a connecting road to neighboring Riepke. Cammin has a stop on the Berlin Northern Railway from Berlin Eberswalder Straße to Stralsund Hbf.
