history

Teschendorf was first mentioned in a document in 1356 under the name "Teskendorpe".

In 1534 the village was largely owned by the sovereign, and in 1805 it was completely owned by the sovereign, making it a ducal domain that covered 880 hectares. The settlement company bought 458 hectares for 21 new farmers in the 1930s. The last tenant of the remaining property was Karl August Freiherr von Malchus (1935–1945). The one-storey mansion at that time dates from around 1805; it was later extended and raised and refurbished after 1990.

With effect from September 27, 2009, the community gave up its independence and was incorporated into Stargard Castle together with the districts of Gramelow and Loitz. The last mayor was Karin Voss-Studt.
