Gramelow is a district of the town of Burg Stargard in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

geography

The place is located 6 kilometers south-south-east of the town of Burg Stargard and 14 kilometers south-south-east of Neubrandenburg in a terminal moraine area east of Lake Tollensee . To the west of the village is the Gramelower See . The neighboring towns are Teschendorf in the northeast, Loitz in the east, Quadenschönfeld in the south, Warbende and Cammin in the southwest and Riepke in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1404. At that time it was recorded under the name "Gramlow".

On January 1, 1973, the previously independent community of Gramelow was incorporated into Teschendorf. With the dissolution of the municipality of Teschendorf and incorporation into the town of Burg Stargard on September 27, 2009, the village became a district there.

In addition to a manor complex with a manor house, the list of monuments in the Mecklenburg Lake District includes eight other protected buildings in the village. These include the Protestant village church of Gramelow , built in 1805 by Friedrich Wilhelm Dunckelberg , a round plastered building with a domed roof.

State road 331 runs through the village in a north-south direction, leading to Stargard Castle in the north and in the opposite direction to federal road 198 near Stolpe .
