Bargensdorf is a district of the town of Burg Stargard in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

geography

The place is two kilometers northwest of the town of Burg Stargard and five kilometers south-southeast of Neubrandenburg . The Bargensdorf district includes an area of ​​1,063 hectares. The neighboring towns are Fünfeichen in the north, Lindenhof in the northeast, Kreuzbruchhof in the east, Quastenberg in the southeast, Rowa in the southwest and Tannenkrug in the northwest.

history

Bargensdorf (1382: Berningestorpe ; 1409: Bergenstorf ; 1496: Bargenstorpe ) is first mentioned in a document in 1382, when the squire Claus von Oertzen zu Stargard pledged 24 Marks raised from Bargensdorf from eight hooves that belonged to his court to the Wanzka monastery.

From the 14th to the 16th century the village remained in the possession of the Oertzen (noble family) . It later belonged to the Mecklenburg princes as a domain and remained a domanial farming village over the centuries. The date of incorporation is not known.

The German writer Carl Wüsthoff (1902–1992) comes from Bargensdorf .
