In 1455 the Bredow family was enfeoffed with help. From 1665 the Oertzen were enfeoffed with Helpt. In 1753 it was sold to Captain Lucius Arnold von Rhaden . In 1782 the estate came to Otto Ulrich von Dewitz . The manor house was built in 1884. From 1911 the estate with the two outbuildings belonged to the barons of Bodenhausen . On May 25, 2014 Helpt was incorporated into Woldegk.

The ruins of the medieval castle of Helpt were used as a potato cellar until the 1950s. After that, sheds and small animal stalls were built on the castle hill. In the mid-1990s, the original castle hill and the ice cellar were restored.
