Coat of arms of those of Rhade

Rhade (also Rhaden ) is the name of an originally Rügischen noble family that was able to spread over Pomerania and Mecklenburg to Denmark and Brandenburg and whose branches are currently continuing.

The family is not related to the Rahden family in Stiftsbremish or Courland , but is to be distinguished from them.

history

The family was first mentioned in a document on January 6, 1316 with the squire Hinske van den Rode . Knight Klaus van den Rode appeared in a document on September 9, 1370 and July 29, 1383. The oldest known seal is from Nicolaus et Hinricus dicti de Rode, famuli , from November 25, 1374 .

The secured family line begins with the heir to Sissow, Matthäus vamme Rhade , who appeared in a document in 1524. A connection with the eponymous, extinct Stralsund city dynasty similar coat of arms has not been proven, but is assumed by some authors.

The royal Prussian secret expedition secretary and court judge in Berlin, Hermann von Rhaden († 1848), received permission to use the baron title “ad personam” there on December 26, 1836 .
