List of the Patriarchs of Venice

The list of Patriarchs of Venice contains the bishops of the Patriarchate of Venice with the title of patriarch (since 1451), as well as their predecessors, who were titled as Bishops of Castello (1092-1451) and Bishops of Olivolo (774-1092).

The name of the diocese and title of bishop followed the name change of the island of Olivolo to San Pietro di Castello .

Patriarch of Venice (from 1451)

Pope Nicholas V transferred the title of Patriarch of Grado to the Bishop of Castello in 1451 and elevated the diocese to the Patriarchate of Venice.
