Chicane
Chicane is a trance and ambient music project by English music producer Nick Bracegirdle.
Career
Chicane had first successes in 1996 with the single Offshore . In 1997 the single Sunstroke followed , the first album ( Far from the Maddening Crowds ) and new versions of Offshore .
In 1999 the single Saltwater was released ; a cover version of the 80s Clannad hit Theme from Harry's Game . That same year, Don't Give Up followed - a collaboration with Bracegirdle's longtime friend, Bryan Adams . The song reached high chart positions in various European countries and repressed in England Madonna from the number the first published in 2000 Chicane next album Behind the Sun .
In 2003 the single Love on the Run was released with the vocals of Peter Cunnah . This single was initially planned as a foretaste of the third Chicane album Easy to Assemble , which should be released in 2003. The release date for this album was postponed again and again and finally completely suspended (apparently there were already promo CDs from Easy to Assemble ).
In 2006 the song Stoned in Love with Tom Jones was released.
On July 23, 2007 Somersault , the third official album with a total of 10 tracks, was released, of which Spirit and Arizona Part 2 were already included on the Easy-to-Assemble- Promo.
His debut album Far from the Maddening Crowds was re-released on October 22, 2007 under the Modena label . The re-release contains a new mix of offshore .
In the summer of 2008 a collaboration with Natasha Bedingfield followed with Bruised Water , a mashup from Natasha Bedingfield's "I bruise easily" and Chicanes old hit "Saltwater". In the USA a promo single of the Natasha Bedingfield song Angel was released , for which Chicane contributed two remixes.
In October 2008 a best-of album was released with the title The Best Of Chicane 1996-2008 with 18 tracks, including some modified versions of his greatest hits, such as Don't Give Up and Saltwater, including a completely new song called Wake Up together with the Brit pop band Keane .
On the special edition of Bryan Adams album 11 , which was released in early November 2008, there is a Chicane mix of the title She's Got a Way .
In 2009 Poppiholla was released , an EP with several revised versions of the song Hoppípolla by the Icelandic band Sigur Rós .
In August 2010 the album Giants was released.
Another Chicane album was released in April 2012 with “Thousand Mile Stare”.
