Peter Cunnah

Peter Cunnah (born August 30, 1966 in Derry , Northern Ireland , Great Britain ) is a British pop singer who became known as the lead singer of DReam in the 1990s and landed a number 1 hit in the British charts with his band.

Peter Cunnah was born in Derry, one of Northern Ireland's larger cities. Initially he was lead guitarist for the Northern Irish band Tie the Boy . After they broke up, he moved to London , where he met Al McKenzie and together with Brian Cox and Mark Roberts, they founded the synth-pop band D: Ream in 1991.

The first single UR the best thing landed at number 19 in the British charts in 1992 after its second release. However, Cunnah and his band had their greatest success in 1994 with the song Things can only get better , which was number 1 in the UK charts and number 20 in Germany . In 1997, the song was released again when it became the campaign song of the future British Prime Minister and then Labor leader Tony Blair . The song landed again at the top of the charts. D: Ream broke up in 1997. A re-establishment with Al McKenzie took place in 2008.

Cunnah lives in London, where he works as a musician and producer. He is married and has two daughters.
