Andreas August von Hobe (born April 14, 1739 in Copenhagen ; † November 15, 1802 in Reinbek ) was a German administrative lawyer in the Danish service.

Life

Andreas August von Hobe came from the original Mecklenburg noble family von Hobe . He was a son of the Danish officer Levin Ludwig von Hobe (1700–1781) and his wife Catharine Sophie, nee. Long hair.

After completing his studies, he entered service in Denmark. In 1770 he became a bailiff over the Hütten office . From 1773 until his death in 1802 he was the bailiff of the Reinbek and Trittau offices, which had previously come to Denmark after the Treaty of Tsarskoe Selo, and from 1800 also of the Tremsbüttel office . He had his official residence at Reinbek Castle , which he saved from demolition.

Since 1770 he was married to Adriana Sybranda (born February 22, 1754 in Cheribon ; † 1803), the youngest daughter of Seneca Inggersen , Baron von Gelting , from his first marriage to Adriana van Loo. The son of the couple Levin Ludwig Christian Leopold von Hobe (1783-1853) inherited the Fideikommiss Gelting through them and was raised to the Danish baron in 1821 with the name of Hobe-Gelting . The eldest son Friedrich (Frederick) Wilhelm Conrad von Hobe (1771–1798) died in America.

A listed obelisk in the Reinbeck palace gardens commemorates Andreas August von Hobe .
