history

With the ordinance of September 22, 1867, the independent rural communities were introduced in the Prussian province of Schleswig-Holstein . In contrast to the rest of the province, there was a special form of municipal administration in the west of Schleswig-Holstein, namely in Dithmarschen and in the Husum district. This was taken over untouched. The parish areas in which secular structures already existed became political parishes, the parish land parishes.

The village communities and village communities existing in the parish land communities as “sub-units” became independent communities as a rule on April 1, 1934. The parish district of Viöl was divided into the 16 communities of Behrendorf , Bondelum , Boxlund, Brook, Eckstock, Haselund , Hoxtrup, Kollund, Kragelund, Löwenstedt , Norstedt , Ostenau, Pobüll, Sollwitt , Spinkebüll and Viöl on April 1, 1934 .

On December 1, 1934, the number of successor parishes was reduced to eight again through several mergers:

  • Haselund, Brook and Kollund were merged to form the municipality of Haselund.
  • Hoxtrup and Kragelund were merged to form the municipality of Hoxtrup.
  • Löwenstedt and Ostenau were merged to form the community of Löwenstedt.
  • Norstedt and Spinkebüll were merged to form the municipality of Norstedt.
  • Sollwitt and Pobüll were merged to form the community of Sollwitt.
  • Viöl, Boxlund and Eckstock were merged to form the municipality of Viöl.
