List of the parishes in Schleswig-Holstein until 1934

In the three districts of Husum , Norderdithmarschen and Süderdithmarschen , the parish land parishes represented the lowest level of administration, analogous to the rural parishes in the other districts of Schleswig-Holstein Year 1934 often to independent rural communities. As a rule, this happened on April 1, 1934, in some cases not until December 1, 1934 in the Husum district. In individual cases, the date can no longer be determined.

No division

Some parish land parishes were not divided into several parishes, but instead transferred to normal rural parishes without changes.

Special case Nordhastedt

The communities of Osterwohld and Westerwohld, established on April 1, 1934, were incorporated into the Nordhastedt community on April 1, 1936. The then newly created municipality of Nordhastedt thus corresponded to the parish land municipality of the same name, which existed until 1934.

The special case of Süderwöhrden

The new communities created on April 1, 1934 through the dissolution of the parish district of Süderwöhrden were incorporated into the Süderwöhrden community on April 1, 1938. Thus, the then newly created community of Süderwöhrden corresponded to the parish land community of the same name that existed until 1934.

Special case Viöl

The parish land community Viöl was dissolved on February 1, 1934 and divided into 16 new communities. On December 1, 1934, the number of communities was reduced to eight again through several mergers:

  • Haselund, Brook and Kollund were merged to form the municipality of Haselund.
  • Hoxtrup and Kragelund were merged to form the municipality of Hoxtrup.
  • Löwenstedt and Ostenau were merged to form the community of Löwenstedt.
  • Norstedt and Spinkebüll were merged to form the municipality of Norstedt.
  • Sollwitt and Pobüll were merged to form the community of Sollwitt.
  • Viöl, Boxlund and Eckstock were merged to form the municipality of Viöl.
