history

With the ordinance of September 22, 1867, the independent rural communities were introduced in the Prussian province of Schleswig-Holstein . In contrast to the rest of the province, there was a special form of municipal administration in the west of Schleswig-Holstein, namely in Dithmarschen and in the Husum district. This was taken over untouched. The parish areas in which secular structures already existed became political parishes, the parish land parishes.

In the Reichstag election in March 1933 , 91.5% of the parish of Südermeldorf-Geest voted for the NSDAP , 3.6% for the DNVP , 2.4% for the SPD and 1.9% for the KPD, with a turnout of 91.7 % %.

The village communities and village communities existing in the parish rural communities as "sub-units" became independent municipalities / rural communities on April 1, 1934. On this day, the parish district of Südermeldorf-Geest was also dissolved. The communities of Bargenstedt , Farnewinkel, Fiel, Gudendorf , Krumstedt , Lehrsbüttel, Nindorf , Odderade , Sarzbüttel , Windbergen and Wolmersdorf were newly formed in their place.
