Sarzbüttel is a municipality in the Dithmarschen district in Schleswig-Holstein .

geography

The Geest community of Sarzbüttel is located on the state road 236 between Dellbrück and Nordhastedt , the nearest villages are Dellbrück and Odderade .

landscape

There are moors around Sarzbüttel, and further east there are also some larger forests. There are several small lakes, but no major stream flows through the village. The Dellbrüdan brook flows in the south, just on the border with Bargenstedt . There are no mountains near Sarzbüttel , the highest hill nearby is 24 meters high.

history

In terms of settlement history, Sarzbüttel is one of the Büttel localities. A village called Oldendorp used to be located on the field of Sarzbüttel . At the beginning of the 17th century there was a noble farm near Oldendorp , which was protected by a wall. This village grew, relocated and merged with other farm and settlement areas.

On April 1, 1934, the parish of Südermeldorf-Geest was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Sarzbüttel.

Only a small part of Sarzbüttel was destroyed during the Second World War . Many of the bombs that fell in the surrounding moors were intended for a refinery that is still nearby today. In the last few decades , Sarzbüttel has been expanded and there are currently several construction projects that focus particularly on the east of the village.

Sports

In Sarzbüttel there is a large soccer field and an archery range . The buildings on the sports grounds were renovated in 2003/2004. The sports facilities are operated by SSV Sarzbüttel, which offers football and archery, among other things, gymnastics , children's gymnastics and step aerobics.
