Fedderingen is a municipality in the north of the Dithmarschen district in Schleswig-Holstein .

Geographical location
The village of Fedderingen is 10 km north of the district town of Heide , 2 km west of Hennstedt and 5 km south of the Eider .
geology
Fedderingen is located on the western edge of the Heide-Itzehoer Geest . The Fedderinger Moor is part of the Lunden lowland, a large lowland area within the Eider-Treene lowland . The Broklandsau to the west flows into the Eider.

Neighboring communities are the communities Schlichting , Kleve , Hennstedt , Süderheistedt (exclave Hägen ), Stelle-Wittenwurth , Rehm-Flehde-Bargen and Wiemerstedt (all in the district of Dithmarschen), starting clockwise in the north .

history
After Dithmarschen lost its independence in 1559 as a result of the last feud , Fedderingen fell to Duke Johann II. After his death, Fedderingen became an exclave belonging to Süderdithmarschen , as the Danish king had reserved it as a travel station.

Since the municipal elections in 2013, the WGF voter community has eight seats in the municipal council. In addition, a single applicant was elected to the municipal council.
