Odderade is a municipality in the Dithmarschen district in Schleswig-Holstein . The towns of Quellental and Lehrsbüttel are in the municipality.

Odderade is on the L 236 between Nordhastedt and Sarzbüttel . The closest city is Meldorf .
The municipality is known regionally primarily for the Riesewohld , the largest forest area in Dithmarschen, which is relatively close to the state of a real primeval forest .

Neighboring communities are the communities of Nordhastedt , Arkebek , Tensbüttel-Röst and Sarzbüttel (all in the Dithmarschen district), starting clockwise in the north .
history
On April 1, 1934, the parish of Südermeldorf-Geest was dissolved. All of their villages, village communities and peasant communities became independent communities / rural communities, including Odderade and Lehrsbüttel.
On January 1, 1966, the then independent municipality of Lehrsbüttel was incorporated into the municipality of Odderade.
Culture and sights
The landmark of the community is the five-finger linden tree in Riesewohld. It also adorns a flag that is hoisted in place of an official flag in the municipality.
Economy and Infrastructure
In the municipality there is a waterworks that supplies almost the entire area of the former district of Süderdithmarschen with drinking water.
