Kleve is a municipality in the north of the Dithmarschen district in Schleswig-Holstein . Hehm, Hehl-Nordfeld, Kleverweg and Westermoor are in the municipality.
geography
location
The name Kleve comes from Kliff, steep coast. The slope from the Geest to Eidermarsch, a relic of the last Ice Age, looks as if the marsh at its edge had simply been torn off and slipped off. The highest point of Kleves is the Mühlenberg at 15 m above sea level. NN, the lowest point is in the Eidermarsch near Lütjenmoor at −0.6 m NN.
Neighboring communities
Neighboring communities, starting clockwise in the north, are the communities Drage (in the district of North Friesland ) and Hennstedt , Fedderingen , Schlichting and Sankt Annen (all in the district of Dithmarschen).
history
Kleve was first mentioned in a document in 1447. Many finds from the Stone Age, such as flint knife blades, stone axes, spindle whorls, earthenware shards of vessels prove that the region was settled significantly early.
On April 1, 1934, the parish state community Hennstedt was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Kleve.
politics
Community representation
Since the municipal elections in 2013, the WGK voter community has all nine seats in the municipal council.
coat of arms
Blazon : “Divided by red and silver by a rounded left bevel. Above a rising silver horse, below two blue wavy bars. "
The division of the coat of arms is intended to symbolize the meaning of Kleve's name and at the same time describes the striking topographical situation of the village on the northern edge of the Dithmarscher Geest in the transition to the Eiderniederung, the natural area of the Eiderstedter and Untereider Marsch . The rising horse is supposed to symbolize the importance of horse breeding and equestrian sport for Kleve. A dense network of bridle paths and roads runs through the municipality. The two wavy threads in the shield base refer to the Eider as the northern border river and the Broklandsau , which characterize the landscape around Kleve. The colors blue, white and red refer to the national colors and white and red to the colors of the Dithmarschen district.
