history

On January 1, 2008, the office was formed from the municipalities of the previous offices of the parish land municipality Hennstedt , parish land municipality Lunden and parish land municipality Tellingstedt .

The office originally consisted of 35 parishes. On January 1, 2009, the municipality of Hägen gave up its independence and merged with the municipality of Süderheistedt.
