Bergewöhrden is the smallest municipality in the Dithmarschen district in Schleswig-Holstein and is not further subdivided into districts.

The community, consisting of twelve houses, is located on the south bank of the Eider , between the Horst district of Hennstedt and the Delver Koog in the Eider-Treene lowland .

Neighboring communities

Neighboring communities are the communities Süderstapel (in the Schleswig-Flensburg district ), Hollingstedt and Hennstedt (both in the Dithmarschen district ), starting clockwise in the north .

history

On April 1, 1934, the parish of Delve was dissolved. All of their villages, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Bergewöhrden.

politics

The community has fewer than 70 inhabitants and therefore, according to Section 54 of the Schleswig-Holstein community code, a community assembly instead of a community council. All residents eligible to vote belong to the community assembly.
