On April 1, 1934, the parish Hemmingstedt was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Lohe and Rickelshof.

politics

coat of arms

Blazon : “Divided by silver and red obliquely to the left. Above a green oak branch with a leaf and an acorn, below an eight-spoke, sixteen-toothed silver machine wheel. "

The two districts are represented in the two-part coat of arms. The district Lohe describes a light forest or a damp grove. With regard to this interpretation of the place name, the oak branch is in the coat of arms. Both places emerged as settlements on the wooded edge of the Geest . The Rickelshof district is symbolized by a machine wheel, as an iron foundry and machine factory was already located in the village in the 19th century .

Economy and Infrastructure

There are around 30 businesses in the municipality, including a full-time agricultural business and an engineering factory. Lohe-Rickelshof is a popular residential area due to its location. The community itself is very quiet, but you can reach the district town of Heide within a few minutes . Thanks to the direct connection to the federal highway 23 , you can reach Hamburg within an hour .

Up until 1991, oil was produced in Lohe-Rickelshof for the oil refinery in Hemmingstedt , and the oil field has no longer been profitable since then.
