Ferdinand Stuemer

Ferdinand Stümer (born March 7, 1922 in Rickelshof ; † June 23, 2010 ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Ferdinand Stümer completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter from 1937 to 1939 and then worked in this profession. From 1940 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . After the end of the war he became involved in the trade union, worked as a youth secretary at IG Bergbau from 1947 to 1960 and became head of the Lingen branch in 1952 . From 1960 to 1965 he was a managing board member of the DGB state district of Rhineland-Palatinate and from 1965 to 1983 he was a specialist in the federal board of IG Bau-Steine-Erden .

Political party

Stümer joined the SPD in 1946 and was elected chairman of the SPD district association in Lingen in 1951.

MP

Ferdinand Stümer was a member of the German Bundestag from March 30, 1954, when he replaced the late MP Ernst Winter , until 1957. He was drawn into parliament via the Lower Saxony state list. From 1956 to 1961 he had mandates in local politics.
