Dörpling is a municipality in the north of the Dithmarschen district in Schleswig-Holstein . Hohenlieth is located in the municipality.

The village is located about 17 km northeast of the district town of Heide , 4 km east of Tellingstedt near the Eider on the county road 46 in northern Dithmarschen and goes almost seamlessly into the municipality of Pahlen .
The community is located in the Eider-Treene-Sorge lowland .

Neighboring communities are the communities of Pahlen , Tielenhemme , Dellstedt , Tellingstedt and Hövede (all in the Dithmarschen district), starting clockwise to the north .
history
Dörpling was first mentioned around 1320.
In the community there was a stop for the Dithmarschen district's small railway.
The Höveder Mühle, a water mill that belonged to the municipality and was demolished at the end of the 19th century, is said to have inspired Klaus Groth to write a story.
On April 1, 1934, the parish Tellingstedt was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Dörpling.
