Wennbüttel is a municipality in the Dithmarschen district in Schleswig-Holstein .

geography

Geographical location

The Gieselau meanders through the community, which is also called “the village with the big trees”, in a length of approx. 3 km . It flows into the Kiel Canal between the Grünentaler Hochbrücke and the Weiche Fischerhütte.

Neighboring communities

The communities of Albersdorf in the west and Bunsoh in the north form the neighboring communities of Wennbüttel. In the south and east, the border with the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district is partly in front of the Kiel Canal .

history

In terms of settlement history, Wennbüttel is one of the Büttel localities.

On April 1, 1934, the parish of Albersdorf was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Wennbüttel.

Economy and Infrastructure

The village is predominantly agricultural. There is also the possibility of a farm holiday in the village.

The Neumünster – Heide railway runs through the municipality ; the next stop is in the neighboring community of Albersdorf .
