Lieth is a municipality in the Dithmarschen district in Schleswig-Holstein .

geography

location

The place is located on both sides of the K 28 district road and borders the municipality of Lohe-Rickelshof in the north, the municipality of Wöhrden in the west and the municipality of Hemmingstedt to the south and east . The majority of the community is located at the transition from a Geestinsel to the marsh . It can be assumed that the first human settlement existed before the formation of the present marshland. Lieth was originally shaped by agriculture.

Neighboring communities are the communities Lohe-Rickelshof , Hemmingstedt and Wöhrden (all in the Dithmarschen district), starting clockwise in the north .

history

On April 1, 1934, the parish Hemmingstedt was dissolved. All of their village communities, village communities and farmers became independent communities / rural communities, including Lieth.
