Süderhackstedt ( Danish : Sønder Haksted ) is a municipality on the Treene in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein .

General

The place is located on 35 meter high old moraines , so that it is clearly visible from afar. The municipal area includes Hinterm Wald, Groß- and Klein-Koxbüll ( Koksbøl ), Mühlenberg, Schmiedekrug ( Smedekro ) and Sollerupmühle.

history

The municipality, in which lawn iron ore was smelted in prehistoric times , has been inhabited since the Stone Age. In 1352 the Koxbüll court is mentioned as belonging to the Schleswig cathedral chapter.

The name is derived from the settlement of Hakki or Hakkar . The name Süder Hackstedt was not mentioned until 1799. During that time, the fields were divided (linked) and the village developed into a scattered settlement, which means that farms were relocated to the area around the center.

Since the local elections in 2008, all nine seats in the municipal council have been held by the KWG voting community.
