Economy and Infrastructure
Residential use predominates in the municipality, the outskirts are still dominated by agriculture. Nevertheless, there are many shops in the village, including: a supermarket, a bakery, a building materials store, a carpet shop, and a hairdresser.
traffic
The most important trunk road is the state road that connects Flensburg with Sörup and Sterup and leads past Hürup immediately north in a west-east direction. The old village road is part of the north-south connection from Glücksburg to Großsolt .
From 1901 to 1938 Hürup had a railway connection to the Flensburg district railway . The narrow-gauge line from Flensburg to Satrup , however, was very winding (not least to connect to Hürup). The station is still preserved as a restaurant. Today the next train stations are in Flensburg and Husby .
