The Hürup marine radio station is a coastal radio station of the German Navy for shortwave (KW) in Hürup in the Schleswig-Flensburg district , which works in the mobile marine radio service .

Originally this system was a transmission radio station for long wave (LW). It went into operation in November 1981 and used a transmitting antenna that was attached to three grounded steel truss masts, each 160 meters high. In 2002 long-wave broadcasting operations were given up and on November 17, 2004 the masts were blown up. After that, today's KW coastal radio station was built on the site .
