Heinz-Andreas Ehm

Heinz-Andreas Ehm (born November 22, 1920 in Ohlau, Lower Silesia Province , today Oława , Lower Silesian Voivodeship ; † May 20, 1985 in Neustrelitz ) was a German actor and director.

Life

Heinz-Andreas Ehm was the son of a master carpenter. He became an actor and was engaged at the municipal theaters in Wroclaw from 1939 . In 1945 he became head of the small house in Stade . This was followed by engagements at the Kammerspiele Spandau and from 1946 at the Volksbühne Potsdam.

In 1949 he became director of the Volksbühne Anklam , in 1950 director of the Volksbühne Greifswald and in 1956 director of the Greifswald City Theater .

From 1960 he was director of the State Village Ensemble of the GDR , from 1972 State Folklore Ensemble of the GDR , which was initially based in Neetzow Castle and from 1960 in Neustrelitz. "Under his leadership, the ensemble made a name for itself; gained high recognition through new creations and idiosyncratic, unconventional folkloric designs."

Since 1959 he was married to Rosemarie Ehm-Schulz for the second time .

His estate is kept in the Schwerin State Main Archive.
