Rosemarie Ehm-Schulz

Rosemarie Ehm-Schulz , b. Rosemarie Schulz , divisional Rosemarie Lettow-Schulz (born September 26, 1922 in Steinau an der Oder , Lower Silesia Province ; † September 5, 2005 in Neustrelitz ) was a German dancer and choreographer .

Life

Rosemarie Schulz grew up as the daughter of an engineer. She received dance training in Berlin and was a dancer at the Osnabrück Theater from 1942 to 1947 . She then trained as a ballet master and in 1953 became a ballet master at the State Folk Art Ensemble Berlin and the singing and dance ensemble of the FDGB Weimar.

In 1954 she co-founded the State Village Ensemble of the GDR , from 1972 the State Folklore Ensemble of the GDR , which was initially based in Neetzow Castle and from 1960 in Neustrelitz. As a choreographer she was responsible for the ensemble's performances until the end of 1987.

Since 1959 she was married to Heinz-Andreas Ehm , the director of the ensemble from 1960 on. Cornelia Nenz is one of her daughters.
