Struxdorf ( Danish : Strukstrup ) is a municipality in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . history
Struxdorf was first mentioned in writing in 1352. The place name is composed of Danish. bøl (dt. büll ) for a settlement and the personal name Struk, a derivation from sønderjysk and Low German struk for shrub is also possible . The part of the municipality village Hollmühle (Dan. Holmølle , angeldän. Hålmøhl ) was first mentioned in the 1649th The place name is made up of Old Norse hol (r) for hole (in today's Danish hul ) and Danish. -mølle for mill and refers to an earlier water mill on the Ekeberger Au. Bellig ( Balle ) was first mentioned in 1457. The name goes back to old Danish. balghe, bælgæ (neudän. balle ) and describes an elevation.
The St. George's Church in Struxdorf is a late Romanesque building from the early 13th century and one of the oldest churches in the area. As the namesake of the Struxdorfharde , the community is one of the old original church plays in Angelns . It is therefore conceivable that there was a church there in front of this one, but nothing has been handed down about it.
At the end of the Second World War , in May 1945, the last Reich government under Karl Dönitz settled in Flensburg - Mürwik , twenty kilometers away . The well-known National Socialist caricaturist Hans Herbert Schweitzer was one of the remaining NS figures who fled in the direction of Flensburg. At the end of the war he settled in the community of Struxdorf in the village of Hollmühle.
