Erwin Zillenbiller

Erwin Zillenbiller (born September 22, 1925 in Veringenstadt ) is a German agricultural scientist and honorary professor at the University of Stuttgart in the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, author and director of the Strübhaus .

Life

Erwin Zillenbiller was born on September 22nd, 1925 in Veringenstadt. In 1943 he was called up for military service in World War II . He got into American and French captivity . Then he returned to his homeland. He graduated from 1949 to 1954 to study agronomy at the University of Hohenheim with promotion to Dr. agr.

After his legal clerkship, he worked for the agricultural offices of Balingen , Rottweil and Sigmaringen from 1957 to 1963 . From 1963 to 1990 he worked at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forests Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart , where he took over the department “Agricultural and Landscape Development” in 1963 (apostrophized as “Father of Village Development”) "Market and Nutrition" and 1987 head of the "Agriculture" department.

In 1980 he received an honorary professorship at the University of Stuttgart .

From 1953 to 1964 he was a city councilor in Veringenstadt. Erwin Zillenbiller is married, has three children and lives in Veringenstadt.

Services

Numerous publications, lectures and exhibitions on local, homeland and landscape history topics (including 1963 City of Veringen, 1985 publisher of “Stadtwerdung im Landkreis Sigmaringen”, 1996 “Cultural landscape - heritage and mission. Development phases of the natural and cultural landscape”) originate from his hand. He is the author of, among other things, 43 scripts for local and cultural history games including the publication of subsequent documentaries on the Heuneburg , Beuron , Ablach , Jungnau , Marbach , Salmendingen and Kreenheinstetten ( Abraham a Sancta Clara ). For many years he has also directed the history games in conjunction with the Veringenstadt city festivals and history games in connection with the cultural focus of the district culture forum: 2009 Neanderthals in Veringenstadt, 2010 “Quo vadis? - People on the way ”. In addition, Zillenbiller is committed to the renovation of the Archabbey of Beuron through the Association of Friends of the Archabbey of St. Martin eV and, as long-term chairman of the Strübhaus eV, for the preservation of the Strübhaus in Veringenstadt and its expansion into an art museum.

Honors

In 1977 he was made an honorary citizen of his hometown Veringenstadt. Ten years later, in 1980, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon and in 2003 the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg by the then Prime Minister Erwin Teufel . The award in Ludwigsburg Castle was based on his services in the preparation of local history for many places in the Sigmaringen district, but also his commitment to the " Association of Friends of the Archabbey of St. Martin " ( Archabbey of Beuron ) was expressly recognized by the head of the state at the award. Zillenbiller was proposed by Dirk Gaerte, District Administrator in Sigmaringen . He is also the 2010 winner of the culture award of the three-country region Sigmaringen. The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros and recognizes outstanding commitment in regional cultural life. It was donated in 2009 by the Kreiskulturforum and the Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken in the district. Zillenbiller made the award available to the Friends of the Strübhaus Museum.
