Horder , or Horderus, is the name of a Romanesque stonemason who worked in Djursland, Denmark around 1180 . The name is quite common in Scandinavia as it was a tribal name and probably goes back to the Haruder mentioned by Caesar . Five portals and a number of baptismal fonts are attributed to Horder . The most important works are the portals of the churches in Rimsø , Vejlby and Ørsted .

Characteristic of his work are rope sticks and decorations with rope windings and acanthus tendrils . The typical Horder font consists of fine-grained gray granite . The upper edge has twists of rope, which are also reminiscent of the art of basket weaving . The outside is divided into two fields, which are usually filled with acanthus tendrils. The foot is square and differently designed.

He probably had his workshop near the Kolindsund so that his works could be transported by sea.
