Hermann Asmuss Clausen (born July 24, 1885 in Eggebek , Flensburg district , † April 12, 1962 in Schleswig ) was a German politician ( SPD , SSW ). He represented the SSW in the first German Bundestag .

After attending elementary school , Clausen entered the service of the Deutsche Reichsbahn , where he last worked in the rank of Reichsbahn senior secretary. From 1920 to 1929 he was a social democratic city councilor in Schleswig. At times he was also a city councilor and member of the magistrate (until 1933).

Because of his political activities in the Weimar Republic , Clausen was under observation by the National Socialist security authorities after 1933. He was arrested in August 1944 as part of Aktion Gewitter . He was initially imprisoned in Kiel and later in the Neuengamme concentration camp .

From 1945 to 1948 Clausen was initially appointed, from 1946 elected mayor of Schleswig. From 1945 Clausen belonged to the district council of the Schleswig district and from 1948 back to the Schleswig city council. Because of the national, anti-Danish course of the Schumacher-SPD, he left the SPD in July 1946 and, after an unsuccessful attempt to found a Social Democratic Party in South Schleswig, joined the SSW in 1948, of which he was chairman from 1950 to 1955. On December 2, 1946, Clausen became a member of the second appointed Landtag in Schleswig-Holstein and, after the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein from 1947 to 1950, of the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein . In the state parliament he was a member of the presidium as deputy to the first secretary.

From 1949 to 1953 he was also a member of the German Bundestag . He was elected via the SSW state list Schleswig-Holstein and was the only representative of his party in the Bundestag, initially as a non-attached member . On January 23, 1952, he then joined the parliamentary group of the Federal Union (FU).
