Samuel Münchow

Samuel Münchow (born March 31, 1893 in Flensburg ; † September 22, 1976 ) was a Danish minority politician in Schleswig-Holstein .

Life and work

After elementary school , Münchow completed an apprenticeship as a blacksmith, which he completed in 1910 with the journeyman's examination. In 1933, he put his master's certificate for locksmith and led 1937-1950 own locksmithing. Münchow was married and had three children. In 1965 he was awarded the Guldnål (gold pin) of the Sydslesvigsk Forening for his services to the Danish minority .

Political party

Even in the Weimar Republic , Münchow was politically committed to the Danish minority and from 1923 was on the board of the Südschleswigschen Verein, which he chaired in 1945/46. After the Second World War he took part in the founding of the SSW , of which he was temporarily chairman in 1949. Münchow belonged within the SSW to the representatives of the efforts to join Denmark .

MP

From 1924 to 1933 and after 1945 Münchow was a member of the Flensburg city council. From 1946 to 1954 and from 1958 to 1962 he was a member of the state parliament in Schleswig-Holstein , where he won the constituency of Flensburg II / Glücksburg in 1947 and the constituency of Flensburg-Stadt-Ost in 1950. Since 1947 he was parliamentary group leader of the SSW in the state parliament.
