Emmerich Koller

Emmerich Koller (born November 6, 1920 in Kemeten , Burgenland , † July 21, 2007 in Oberwart ) was an Austrian politician of the SPÖ .

Life

The son of a carpenter worked for the post office from 1938 after attending compulsory school. After being drafted into the Wehrmacht , Koller returned to the postal service after the end of the Second World War and worked as the post office manager of the Güssing post office .

He became a member of the SPÖ for which he was elected to the Kemeten municipal council in 1958. In 1962 Koller was elected mayor of his hometown and from 1965 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag . In 1968 Koller was elected the third president of the state parliament. Koller held this office until his election to the National Council, of which he was a member during the 13th to 15th business period from November 4, 1975 until his retirement on January 19, 1982.

Between 1969 and 1972, Emmerich Koller also served as campaign manager for Governor Theodor Kery .
