Irina Wladimirowna Palina ( Russian Ирина Владимировна Палина ; born January 15, 1970 in Moscow ) is a Russian table tennis player . At European Championships she came in medal ranks several times.

successes

In 1987 Palina became European youth champion. From 1989 to 2007 she represented Russia nine times at European and ten times at World Championships . She also qualified four times to take part in the Olympic Games. At the European Championships in 1990 and 1994 she reached the final in doubles with Jelena Timina . In 1992 , 2002 , 2003 and 2005 she reached the double semifinals, the last three times with Svetlana Ganina . With the Russian team she won the European Championship title in 1994 and silver in 2007 .

In 1995 and 2003 she reached the quarter-finals at the World Cup in doubles, as well as at the Summer Olympics in 1992 and 1996 .

Germany

From 1993 to 1997 Palina played for the Hungarian top club Statisztika Budapest , with whom she was Hungarian team champion five times in a row and twice European Cup winners . Then she moved to the German Bundesliga for the Berlin TSC - later 3B Berlin, today Ttc berlin eastside . With a one-year break when she was active at DJK TuS Holsterhausen in 2006/2007 , she still plays there today (2nd team, upper league) and works as a trainer (2010).

Private

Palina has two daughters (* 2001 and * 2004). Lilia, the older, plays with the second team of Ttc berlin eastside in the upper league and was also used in the Bundesliga in March 2017.
