Jelena Vyacheslavovna Timina ( Russian Елена Вячеславовна Тимина ; born May 8, 1969 in Moscow ) is a former Russian and later Dutch table tennis player . She won the title three times at the European Team Championship.

Career

Timina initially played for her native Russia. Around 2005 she - like her sister Yana - took Dutch citizenship and then performed internationally for the Netherlands. In 2007 she moved from the Dutch club Den Helder as a player-coach in the German Bundesliga at TuS Bad Driburg . after an interlude in the French 1st division at SA Souche Niort, she joined the TTK Anröchte (2nd Bundesliga) in 2013 .

successes

1983 Timina came together with Jelena Komrakowa at the European Youth Championship in the doubles final. From 1989 until today (2010) she took part in seven European and nine world championships . She also qualified three times to take part in the Olympic Games.

At the European Championships she came into the final twice in doubles, namely in 1990 and 1994 with Irina Palina . She won gold in 1994 with the Russian women's team and in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 with the Dutch team. At the Summer Olympics in 1992 and 1996 , she reached the quarter-finals in doubles.

Because of her successes, she was honored with the title of Honored Master of Sport in 1995 .
