Timo Boll (2010)

The 29th European Table Tennis Championship (officially: 2010 LIEBHERR European Championships) took place from September 11th to 19th, 2010 in Ostrava .

After 2007 and 2008, the German table tennis player Timo Boll again won all three men's competitions. In the first German European Championship individual final since 1958, the world number two won against his club colleague Patrick Baum , won the doubles together with Christian Süß and also won the team competition.

In the women's category, last year's third Wiktoryja Paulowitsch from Belarus won the individual competition against Austrian Liu Jia . In the double competition, the bronze medal winners from 2009, Rūta Paškauskienė (Lithuania) and Oksana Fadejewa (Russia), also prevailed. In the team competition, defending champion Netherlands won the gold medal for the third time in a row.

Cutting off the Germans

The following players were used in the German women's team: Wu Jiaduo , Zhenqi Barthel , Kristin Silbereisen , Sabine Winter , Elke Schall . In Group D, the team won against Austria (3: 0) and Croatia (3: 1), but lost to Turkey 2: 3. Because of the most won games, it came first in front of the tied women from Turkey and Austria. In the round for the first eight places, Germany lost to Romania and Hungary 2: 3 each. In the game for seventh place against Turkey, the German team retaliated for the defeat in the group games and won 3-0.

Again the Mixed European Championships were held in a separate tournament. They took place in Subotica (Serbia). The winners Bora Vang / Şirin Hey from Turkey.
