Iveta Vacenovská (born March 22, 1986 in Hodonín ) is a Czech table tennis player . From 2002 to 2017 she took part in 13 world championships , 13 European championships and two Olympic Games .

Career

She grew up in Ratíškovice . Iveta Vacenovská started playing table tennis at the age of six, under the guidance of her uncle, a table tennis coach. Then she played in the youth teams of the SKST Hodonín. She achieved her first international successes in school and youth tournaments. At the European Youth Championships in 1999 she was second in the girls' class in the singles (behind Gaby Rohr from Germany). In 2000 she won gold in doubles with Martina Smištíková and in mixed with Antonín Gavlas . In 2002 she won with the team and in 2003 in the individual. At the European youth TOP10 ranking tournament she came in third.

In the adult category she won nine titles at the national Czech championships: 2005, 2007 and 2011 in singles, 2003 to 2006 in doubles, 2005 in mixed and 2003 with the team of SKST Hodonin. In 2004 she joined the Austrian association Linz AG Froschberg . With this she won the ETTU Champions League in 2009 and 2013 . At European Championships she won two bronze medals with the team, namely in 2009 and 2013 .

In 2012, she qualified for participation in the Olympic Games via the world rankings . Here she won against the Thai Nanthana Komwong and then retired against Wu Jiaduo (Germany). The 2016 Olympic Games were similar for them . She won against Lady Ruano (Colombia) and then lost to Tetjana Bilenko (Ukraine).

In the years 2004–2010, 2013, 2015 and 2016 she won the Austrian team championship with Froschberg. In June 2016, after twelve years, she left the Linz AG Froschberg association and returned to SKST Hodonín.

Private

Iveta Vacenovská studied sports at the Charles University in Prague.
