Antonín Gavlas (born June 4, 1985 in Cheb ) is a Czech table tennis player . He was European mixed champion in 2013.

Career

Antonín Gavlas came to table tennis in Franzensbad through his father of the same name and was soon considered one of the greatest talents in the Czech Republic. He started at Casino Estor Cheb in the 2000/01 season in the Czech extra league. From 2002 Gavlas played for several German clubs, u. a. from 2006 to 2009 with TTV Gönnern in the Bundesliga , then he moved to Italy to the CUS Torino ASD

Antonín Gavlas achieved his first international successes in youth tournaments. In 1997 he won the European Youth Championships in doubles with Jiří Vráblík , in 1999 also in doubles with Dániel Zwickl and in 2000 in mixed with Iveta Vacenovská . In 2000 he also reached the semi-finals in singles and the final with the team.

In 2006 coach Pavel Špaček appointed him for the first time in the selection for the World Cup. From 2006 to 2013 he took part in four world championships and five European championships . He became European champion together with Renáta Štrbíková at the Mixed European Championships in Buzău in 2013 .

He won national titles in 2013 with the Czech championship in team competition and in 2017 as Czech champion in individual. In 2010 Gavlas took 3rd place in the Czech championship in individual. He was also Italian league champion in 2011 with CUS Torino.
