New Apostolic Church (Berlin-Kreuzberg)
The New Apostolic Church is located at Baruther Straße 4 in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg in what is now the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district . It was inaugurated on February 1, 1969.
history
Since the foundation of the parish on May 29, 1949, the faithful have gathered in the school auditorium at Bergmannstrasse 60–65.
Almost 20 years later, the congregation was able to purchase its own land and started in the same year with the construction . In 1979 the building was extensively remodeled to provide rooms for mothers and children, a youth room and Sunday school. During this time the congregation visited the church at Flughafenstrasse 43 in the Neukölln district . This church no longer exists, the house has since been sold to the Muslim Association of Intercultural Centers .
Building description
The building has four floors . A gate leads to the courtyard . Baruther Straße has a closed development on the side opposite Cemetery I of the Trinity Congregation and Cemetery II of the Jerusalem and New Church Congregation , in which the Second World War tore a gap at numbers 3, 4 and 5. Since the development plan still provides for a closed development, the newly built church building at number 4 has no windows on the fire walls . The church hall extends over the first and second floors . On the floor above there is an apartment facing the courtyard . The organ Opus 2041, built by Sauer in 1976 , has a manual , a pedal and four stops .
