Mount Tiekel is a 1,820 m high mountain in Alaska , 36 km east of Valdez and 18 km northeast of Thompson Pass and the Worthington Glacier . The Richardson Highway with the Trans-Alaska Pipeline runs north two kilometers east of the summit.
In River Tiekel Valley there is a lodge of the same name. The mountain is one of the easiest trekking destinations from Valdez. In the vicinity are the Tonsina Lake and the valleys of the Copper River and Stuart Creek and its tributary Mill Creek .
