Chen Longcan

Chen Longcan ( Chinese  陈龙灿 , Pinyin Chén Lóngcàn ; born March 30, 1965 in Chengdu , Sichuan ) is a Chinese table tennis player . He is world champion and Olympic champion in doubles as well as two-time team world champion.

Chen Longcan usually played doubles with fellow countryman Wei Qingguang . Between 1985 and 1989, Chen Longcan took part in three world championships . In 1985 he reached the singles final, which he lost to Jiang Jialiang (China). With the Chinese team he won the gold medal, which he defended two years later. In 1987 he was also world champion in doubles. In 1987 he was runner-up with the Chinese team. In doubles and mixed (with Gao Jun ) he reached the semifinals.

In 1988 he was nominated for the Summer Olympics. He won the gold medal in doubles with Wei Qingguang.

From 1991 to 2000, Chen Longcan played in Japan, after which he ended his active career. He trained the Japanese Ai Fukuhara for a year , and in 2001 he returned to China.
