Lü Lin

Lü Lin ( Chinese  呂琳  /  吕琳 , Pinyin Lǚ Lín ; born April 6, 1969 in Wenling ( Zhejiang Province )) is a former Chinese table tennis player . He is Olympic champion and two-time world champion in doubles.

Lü Lin began playing table tennis at the age of six. In 1987 he was accepted into the national team. He had his greatest successes in doubles with Wang Tao . With him he won medals at all three world championships in which he participated: silver in 1991 , gold in 1993 and gold in 1995 . In 1993 he finished second with the Chinese team. The duo won the gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics , and in 1996 it took silver behind Liu Guoliang / Kong Linghui .

In the 1994/95 season Lü Lin played for the German Bundesliga club TTC Jülich , after which he went to Japan.
