Yan Sen
Yan Sen ( Chinese 閻森 / 阎森 , Pinyin Yán Sēn ; born August 16, 1975 in Jiangsu ) is a Chinese table tennis player . He was twice world champion in doubles, Asian champion in mixed and Olympic champion in doubles.
Career
Yan Sen started playing table tennis at the age of six. He was 1993 youth world champion in singles.
He achieved his greatest successes in doubles with his compatriot Wang Liqin , with whom he usually appeared. He took part in five world championships from 1997 to 2005 . He came in 1999 in the double final, which was lost to Kong Linghui / Liu Guoliang . At the next World Championships in 2001 and 2003 , he won the title. He won bronze in 1997 in singles and in 2005 in doubles and mixed with Guo Yan .
He qualified six times for participation in the Grand Finals through successes in the ITTF Pro Tour tournaments . Here he was first in doubles in 1996, 1998 and 2000. He was Asian champion in 1998 and 2000 with the Chinese team and in 2000 in mixed with Yang Ying . In 2000 he became a double Olympic champion.
In the ITTF world rankings , he finished 25th in January 2001.
