Yang Ying (table tennis player, 1977)

Yang Ying (born July 13, 1977 in Xuzhou ) is a Chinese table tennis player . She has been world champion four times and won a silver medal at the 2000 Olympic Games.

Career

Yang Ying participated in four world championships from 1995 to 2001 . With the Chinese women's team, she became world champion in 1997 and 2001 . Another title was won in 1997 in doubles with Deng Yaping and in 2001 in mixed with Qin Zhijian . With Sun Jin she reached the double finals in 1999 and 2001, which were lost to Wang Nan / Li Ju . 1999 won the bronze medal with Qin Zhijian in mixed.

In 2000 she was Asian champion in mixed with Yan Sen and with the Chinese team. She often started at the ITTF Pro Tour tournaments, where she qualified five times for the Grand Finals . Here she was particularly successful in the double competition, which she won in 1996 with Deng Yaping and in 2000 with Sun Jin. In 1999 she failed in the final against Wang Nan / Li Ju. In 1996 and 2000 she finished in the last four.

In 2000, Yang Ying qualified to participate in the Summer Olympics . Here she won the silver medal in doubles with Sun Jin. In the final they lost again to Wang Nan / Li Ju.

In 1997, Yang Ying was fourth in the ITTF world rankings .

In 1997 she was signed by the German Bundesliga team Galaxis Lübeck , but was not used.
