At the XXIV Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , four archery competitions were held. The venue was the Hwarang archery range.
There were several changes for the archers at the Seoul Games. For the first time, the competitions were not only held individually but also as a team (provided a nation had 3 starting places). Furthermore, the double FITA round was no longer shot, but a ranking was first determined through a single FITA round. The best 24 shooters of this determined ranking then shot out the Olympic champion in an elimination competition. The same procedure was followed for the teams, only here in the second round the best eight teams eliminated the winner.
