Kim Soo-nyung ( kor. 김수녕 ; born April 5, 1971 in Chungcheongbuk-do , South Korea ) is a former South Korean archer , four-time world champion and four-time Olympic champion .

At the age of 17, she won two gold medals at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul - in the individual and with the team. She then won four gold medals at the World Championships in Lausanne in 1989 and Krakow in 1991 . She won twice in both the individual and team competitions.

At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , she won again with the South Korean team and received the silver medal in the individual. After the Barcelona Games, she resigned at the age of 21 to get married and raise two children. In 1999, she went into training again and qualified for the Olympic Games in Sydney . There she won another gold medal with the team and achieved 3rd place in the individual.

With four gold medals, she is the most successful female archer at the Olympic Games since archery became an Olympic discipline again in 1972.
