Joo Hyun-jung ( kor. 주현정 ; born May 3, 1982 ) is a former South Korean archer and Olympic champion .
Career
Joo won her first major title at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . Together with Yun Ok-hee and Park Sung-hyun , she became an Olympic champion in the team competition. In the individual, she finished seventh after she lost in the quarterfinals to the later gold medalist Zhang Juanjuan .
The following year she managed to win the title at the World Championships in Ulsan , both individually and with the team.
Joo celebrated another medal success at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou with the gold medal in the team competition. In the individual qualification she finished fourth, but still retired early as the third best South Korean behind Yun Ok-hee and Ki Bo-bae .
